It has been estimated that the cell phone industry has profited to the tune of about $4 billion dollars in 2004 thanks to these downloadable ringtones that they have started to charge for. It is no wonder that cellular customers are scrambling and searching all over the internet to find free cell ringtones that they can download and enjoy without the extra cost. While people absolutely enjoy the variety, very few of them are happy about paying more for ringtones than they would to download the MP3 of the newest release by their favorite musician.

By now it should be clear to people that cell phones and cellular technology is here to stay and is not some kind of crazy fad, as some had predicted in the early days. Cellular phones have become a part of the American lifestyle and an important tool in fast and easy communication. Cellular ringtones will no doubt continue to be something that people will seek out to help customize and personalize their cell phones and the sites that have free downloadable ringtones will be sought out as well.
